To Dear Dad -Postcard Friendship Friday #458

The impact of a Father on the life of his children is long-lasting.  What a Father does makes a difference for all time, as his influence ripples down through generations.

I was blessed with a Dad who loved each of us with all his heart.  I miss him.  I remember how proud he was of me and my family.  He was proud of all of us.

Climbing Bubble Stairs

I'm not sure what the child is holding--maybe he's going to use it to pop all those bubbles?  I love the idea of bubbles growing upon the ground--bubble trees and bubble-scapes.

I suppose I will ever be the whimsical child.

Love to Father -Postcard Friendship Friday #457

Father's Day is in June.  I was blessed to have a wonderful Daddy who loved me and my siblings with all his heart.  He flew away to heaven almost seven years ago.  I still miss Dad.

Dad taught us about unconditional love--it didn't matter what awful thing we might have done--his love was always there.  Because of Daddy, I understand the heart of God the Father.  He is tender and loving--but firm and strong, just like my own precious Father.

"As a father is kind to his children, so the LORD is kind to those who honor him."  ~Psalm 103:13  I am grateful to the Lord for dear Dad--who by his example taught us who God is.

Happy Postcard Friendship Friday, dear Friends--and Happy Father's Day!

Happy Birthday, Mumsie!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Mom--she is 80 years old today!  Her life has been an amazing adventure--I love her stories and I'm SO grateful God made me a part of her story.

Dear, sweet Mumsie--I don't know what I would do without her. We are only 19 years apart in age.  After I became an adult, she and I were often mistaken for sisters--I always found that to be charming.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMS!
I love you SO much.

Purple Emperor Fairy -Postcard Friendship Friday #456

The fairy in this ad features the beauty of the Purple Emperor, which is the second largest butterfly in central Europe.  The deep purple-blue shine on the wings of the male can only be seen from various angles and in bright light.  The color shows up when  light is refracted by ridges on the insect's wing scales.

Poulain is Fench for foal.  Though the icon of the brand is usually a jumping foal, in this advertisement, they've used a whimsical little fairy.

This company has been around for a LONG time.  Chocolat Poulain is one of the oldest chocolate brands in France.  They are famous for their chocolate bars, both for eating and cooking.  They also make a lovely chocolate drink mix called Poulain Orange product.

It all began as the dream of Victor-Auguste Poulain, who began the mass production of chocolate in 1848 in Blois, France.  In 1893, he established Chocolat Poulain as a company.

In the mid-1800's, chocolate was considered to be the food of kings.  Ahead of his time, Victor believed chocolate should be available to everyone.  His company was innovative in industrializing the production of chocolate and in their widespread marketing campaigns targeting children and families.

In more modern history--Chocolat Poulain was the sponsor of the mountains classification in the 1975 Tour de France, when its distinctive polka dot jersey was introduced; the jersey's design was based on the candy's polka dotted wrapper.  The company was bought by Cadbury Sweppes in 1988.  It was sold to Kraft Food in 2010 and since 2012 belongs to Mondelez International.

Thank you for dropping by, dear Friends!  Happy Postcard Friendship Friday.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

I wish everyone could be gifted with an amazing Mother.  Sadly that often isn't the case.  I love sharing Mumsie with all my Friends--she has a BIG heart and has many "adopted" sons and daughters.

Years ago I worked as a nurse's aide in a care home for the elderly.  I met so many amazing women there...  I often think of them and am grateful for them.  Those dear ones changed my life...

They are numbered among those I call Mom.

Sweet blessings to you, dear ones.  I hope this day is a lovely one for you.  May God bless you with joy, peace and hope.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day Weekend! -Postcard Friendship Friday #455

I found this darling postcard online.  I couldn't resist posting it--such a whimsical idea.  Can you imagine what a soft and fragrant place a rose would be for a nap?  One might hope, however, that the baby wouldn't roll out--but perhaps the little fellow has wings?

I am blessed with a Mother who loved to tell us about the wee peoples of the forest.  The faeries she introduced to us and their amazing adventures, still live on in my mind.

Mumsie will be 80 years old next weekend.  She loves to work in her garden and still tells wonderful stories.  It is hard to believe she's going to be that old--she looks like she's in her late 60's.  She is beautiful and amazing--she has led an extraordinary life.

Happy Mother's Day dear ones--I pray this weekend is a special one!

Happy Birthday Sissy!

As the eldest of six, I'm sure I gave my sweet younger Sis plenty of grief.  I was the oldest and I thought I knew a thing or two.  But she found ways of getting around her big sister.

Saturday mornings we were allowed to watch cartoons.  My brother and I would be watching cartoons.  Often Clytie wanted to watch something different--but of course, we wouldn't change the channel.

Her solution?  Sneaky little sister would pick a fight between Bro and I...  We would get into trouble, and be sent to our rooms.  Which left Sissy in control of the television!  Haha--I learned about that years later--and what a laugh we had!

It is my sweet sister Clytie's birthday today--she's 58 years old and one of my best friends.  I love her and am eternally blessed by her love and friendship.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SISSY!
YOU ARE AMAZING!

A Mother's Help -Postcard Friendship Friday #454

This is such a lovely piece.  Mothers haven't changed much over the years.  The gentleness and tenderness of this sweet Mother toward her little daughter is beautifully portrayed in this piece.

The older I become, the more appreciative I am of my own dear Mumsie.  I am the eldest of six.  She has been through so much--gave so much of her self--that I am forever grateful for her.  Her love, wisdom and strength means so much to me.

I am blessed to have a mother such as mine.  SO blessed.

Have a wonderful day, sweet Friends--here in the Willamette Valley the sun is out and spring is busting out everywhere.  I am grateful for the sunshine today! Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!
