Santa's Disguise - Postcard Friendship Friday #250

I found this unusual Christmas postcard years ago on my friend Jann's blog.  Though my life has been filled with tears over the past few months, this postcard made me smile.

Who would have thought old Saint Nick was in truth a coy little cherub such as this???  So darling and sweet.

Surprise! -Postcard Friendship Friday #192

Sergei Sergeevich Solomko is new to me.  He was one of the great artists of Russia.  His work was extraordinary.  Though I can find examples of his artwork all over the internet, I am having a hard time discovering anything of his personal life and history, other than he was born in Russia and lived between 1867 and 1928.

I would LOVE to know more about him.  If anyone out there has additional information about this wonderful artist, I would like to hear from you.  And a big hello to my Russian visitors.

Have a lovely week and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

A Happy New Year!

I just love this unusual old postcard--I have never come across any pictures of Father Time as balding before this.  He usually has a long flowing white beard.  Having a follicaly-challenged Father, gave me a love for men with, er, sparse hair.  Take Jean-Luke Picard, of the television series Star Trek, Next Generation, for example.  What a good looking fellow!

I love the way the angel is sneaking up behind poor Father Time.  I think that angel scared the poor fellow, don't you?  He seems surprised enough to have dropped the hour glass he was holding.  Perhaps for a moment, time stopped?

Happy New Year, sweet Friends.  There is joy to be found in every little thing.

Christmas Candle Peek

This is another sweet card Grammie saved in her collection. I love the holly sprigs on her dress. I'm sure she and that darling little grey kitty were a wonderful surprise to whomever is on the other side of that curtain.

DADDY UPDATE: Dad received some disheartening news last week. The CAT scan shows no healing in his neck bones. Please pray for his healing, and that in the meantime Dad will be able to tolerate the neck collar he must wear to keep his neck steady. Also, please pray for my precious Mumsie. This is so very difficult for her.
