Fall Winds -Postcard Friendship Friday #376

Hello, sweet Friends.  It has been a long two weeks.  I missed last week--but here is this week's Postcard Friendship Friday.  I hope you enjoy this bit of whimsy.  I love the windswept look of this flower faced maiden.

Fall is peeking from the shadows of the trees.  A chilly wind blows as I gather firewood out back.  The flowers are beginning to feel the cold and the morning sunshine scatters rainbows across the green, green grass.

Have a lovely weekend, and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday.

To My Love -Postcard Friendship Friday #299

I adore this beautiful postcard...such sweet faces in the mist of flowers--they are like something I would draw.

This Valentine's Day I will be taking a team of dramatists to perform "The Decision," the story of Ruth, Naomi and Boaz--a beautiful romance found in the Old Testament of The Bible.

I have always identified with Ruth and Boaz--they seemed to shadow the romance between my husband and myself.  So performing this on what would have been our 32nd Valentine's Day will be a bittersweet weekend for me.  However, God is good and He is full of love.

Treasure your loved ones--hold them close this Valentine's Day.  Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Welcome Easter Morning -Guest Heart Thursday

I love faces in flowers--to discover these beautiful Easter Lilies with such lovely smiles made my morning.  I am sharing these flowers, not only for Easter, and Guest Heart Thursday, but for all our friends who are buried by the snow storms sweeping across parts of America.

Spring is coming, dear ones--soon flowers will be bursting from the frozen ground.  Our thoughts are with you--and, of course, you must know how envious I am that you have had snow.  (sigh)  Not one single flake here this winter...I can't remember a winter without some snow!

Of course, there are many hearts in this wonderful postcard--some of them are quite hidden!  Have a lovely weekend and happy Guest Heart Thursday.

A Sunny Greeting - Postcard Friendship Friday #72

This postcard with its poetic greeting is my wish for each of you this early Friday morning.  Hearing today's national weather reports, it seems it is sunny everywhere except where I live.  As I type this, the clouds are scudding thick over the rising sun--though they say (who are they anyway) it will clear off later and will reach the mid-70's.

In the meantime, I walk in my garden where the faeries flit over the flowers.  The flowers, of course call their greetings--not only to these tiny beings--but to me.  Sometimes they even sing.

Good Morning Kisses

This lovely illustration comes from an ancient book of children's poetry, which was printed in the early 1900's. I love the elegant graceful lines of this artist's pen and ink drawings. I have had the book in my possession forever. I'm sure it is one I've treasured since childhood--the beauty of these drawings have been a big influence my own style of drawing.

Daddy Update: I stayed until dark last night, and Dad seemed to be doing a lot better. I'm so glad it will not be as hot today--with that collar he must wear to stabilize his neck, the heat was really bothering him. Thank you so much for your prayers!
