Black Cats - Postcard Friendship Friday

First of all, dear friends, I apologize for getting PFF up so late in the day--I have been quite ill this week, and fell behind.

I adore this postcard!  The little girl's dress is just adorable.  I think I want one!  I have loved black cats since I was a little girl and am now a collector of them.  When my father was a boy, he had a black cat named Snow.  When I was small we also had a black cat named Snow--and today my children are loved by a black cat named Snow--though her name has reverted to Snowbunny.

Most of what we hear about black cats is bad.  But in fact, folklore surrounding black cats varies from culture to culture. In Great Britain, black cats are a symbol of good luck. The Scottish believe a strange black cat's arrival to the home signifies prosperity. Furthermore, it is believed that a lady who owns a black cat will have many suitors.  I rather thought today's postcard fit that bit of folklore!

Great card, Bath. I'm sorry but I'm passing again today, as I've spent the last week INSULATING my attic. I didn't find any bats up there, but a lot of cob webs! I'll follow along on more time.

A sweet card and a beautiful dress indeed. Our favorite cat at home was also black, Bonkie. He was verrrry naughty and funny. He used his tail to knock on the window, when he wanted to enter the house from the other side than where his cat door was. Thanks for visiting my blog last week. I was on a short holiday in Norway. Get well and happy PFF!

Sorry you were not feeling well and hope you are almost like new again. I think that card is one of the prettiest I have seen. The illustration is wonderful--I adore the old vintage pictures and artwork. Carol

I hope you are feeling better Bath, I mean Beth. I love your coce of cards. The little black cat dress is darling - except I thing the bow stuck on her head is an aerodynamic impossibility.

Hope you will feel better soon.
No problem being late the whole broadband system crashed in Scotland and Northern England, even made the national news. Hope it was not those black cats dancing on the Edinburgh exchange.
Cute card, love that dress.
