Prayers in the Storm

This lovely old postcard is the opposite of what people along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States are experiencing as I type this.  Our hearts and prayers go out to those caught in the swath of that immense storm.  My prayer for each of you is that you will experience God's peace in the midst of the storm--like the peace reflected in this picture.

It is calm here on the West Coast--we watch these events unfolding over the television.  What a frightening storm. Our hearts are with you, our prayers surround you...

Amen to your post Beth, from us out here on the west coast, wishing God's peace to those facing Hurricane Irene.

One of my daughters and her partner put in a new kitchen faucet for us and that led to some modification to the plumbing. More than I can do these days as I can't work like I once did. So I am grateful for their help and so is Patty as she had a new and more modern faucet.

Because of that I have somewhat neglected watching television and the hurricane. But the set is on waiting on me to return. I think New York City will be a mess bu the time it is past them.

The folks on the West Coast are used to the rain and also the earthquakes. But these are almost new experiences for most of us east of the Mississippi. We do have tornados and severe thunderstorms but nothing quite like these things.

Lovely post Beth. My sister and her family are in Maryland and they are staying in their house and hoping for the best tonight. They already had an earthquake this week and now a hurricane. It's so crazy!

Praying for all those in the path of Irene! The weather is crazy with hurricanes, earthquakes and rainstorms!

These are definitely interesting times, aren't they? I'm not sure what to think about our weird and wacky world!

But my prayers are with all of those affected by Irene ... and the earthquakes ... and the droughts ... and the wildfires ... and more all over the globe.

Sigh.
