You are Missed

I have noticed my overseas audience is missing.  They are my largest and I pray for the peoples of those lands with all my heart.

I wanted each of you to know you have been missed.

Does anyone know what the word on this postcard means? I wonder what language it is in?  Let me know if you have any ideas!

God bless you, dear ones.

When Can Their Glory Fade -Postcard Friendship Friday #359

I apologize for posting Postcard Friendship Friday later than usual.  I wanted to add some of the pictures we took on Memorial Day as we visited my Dad and Uncle Kelly's graves yesterday.  Our family has been bringing flowers to Daddy's grave on  Memorial  Day since he left us nearly five years ago.  He fought in WW2 and was a prisoner of war in Nazi Germany.  He was my hero.

This year we also visited Uncle Kelly.  We had been unaware Dad's younger brother had been buried in the same cemetery as Dad.  We left flowers on his grave, too.  It was a poignant moment for all of us.

May God bless the families and friends of all the brave men and women who have fought for their country and who sacrificed so much.

In Memory of our Heroes -Postcard Friendship Friday #358

Next weekend is Memorial Day, when everyone across America will honor those who have fallen in war.  I am posting this in honor of my Father, who fought in WW2, Uncle Keller who fought in the Korean War, Uncle Jody, who fought in the Vietnam War, and dear Grandpa who was a soldier in WW1.  There are others of our family who fought in the Civil war when America was still very young.

Though these brave men lived through those wars, their families often felt the brunt of their time away, defending their country.  War is ugly and it leaves scars.

God bless the family and friends of all those who have taken a stand for home and family--and the country they loved so dearly.

Happy Birthday, Mumsie

Today my precious Mother turns 78.  We are exactly 19 years apart.  I am so blessed to have a mother like mine.  So often I hear stories about mothers who are less than what should be and I know she is a rare and beautiful woman--and a fabulous Mother.

She is so sweet.  She listens to me, she's proud of me.  She keeps my secrets and teaches me truth.  She amazes me and she loves me.

Here's a sweet story about Mumsie.  For years she would doodle 41 inside of a heart.  We used to tease her about it, and she would say, "When I turn 41 something BIG is going to happen.  And we would laugh.

The morning of her 41st Birthday Mount St. Helens blew her top in Washington State!  We all laughed and laughed over that--and we tease her about it to this day.  After that she never doodled a 41 inside of a heart again.  (grin)

I am SO blessed to have you in my life, Mumsie.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  I love you so.

Taking a Walk -Postcard Friendship Friday #357

I was one of those brave Moms who homeschooled her children most of their school years.  It was a rewarding, yet difficult time in my life. I often wondered if I had done well enough.  I had such brilliant, amazing children.

They are still the loves of my life.

Happy Mother's Day dear Friends...I am SO blessed by my dear, precious, treasured children.  I pray this same blessing is yours.

Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Little Fireman -Postcard Friendship Friday #355

This is a postcard I put up a little over eight years ago.  I'm so busy I hadn't had the time to acquire a postcard for this week, so I'm re-posting it!

I admired the artist who drew this amazing little boy so much, my darling Sissy gave me the original boxed set from her extensive collection of cards. I felt so honored--They are just wonderful.  This postcard is three times as big as a normal one!

A warm and friendly "Hi" from me -- Thinkin' and wonderin' how you be!  Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

He is Risen! -Postcard Friendship Friday #354

“But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb; and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet.

“They said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?"

“She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him." Saying this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus.

“Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom do you seek?"

“Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said to Him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away."

“Jesus said to her, ‘Mary.’"

“She turned and said to him in Hebrew, ‘Rabboni!’ (which means Teacher).

“Jesus said to her, ‘Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’

“Mary Magdalene went and said to the disciples, ‘I have seen the Lord;’ and she told them that He had said these things to her.”
~John 20:11-18

I can only imagine the tenderness in His voice, as He said her name.

I can only imagine the joy and awe Mary Magdalene must have felt. When she realized who He was she could hardly keep from throwing her arms around Him.

Dear Friends, He calls all of us by name.  He sees our endless tears--through His wounds he brings healing to our deepest hurts. He is Risen!  He is Risen indeed...such is the true meaning of Easter.  A joyous Easter to you all!

And Happy Postcard Friendship Friday.
