I came across this beautiful painting of a Dutch girl picking Easter lilies and I was charmed.  It is such a lovely moment--enchantingly captured...

This little girl, though in the garb of old, reminds me of my children when they were young.

It's getting close to Halloween...and though these wonderful traditional outfits are not costumes, I thought it to be sweetly fitting to post this vintage postcard.   I've always loved The Netherlands and the wonderful stories and traditions of that country.

She's a Lioness!

This wonderful piece is by an artist who goes by the name Coffeepotion.  I love this--she is so perfectly Art Nouveau, in the tradition of Alphonse Mucha.

What a darling Halloween Postcard!  I love the hanging pumpkin, and especially that wide-eyed black cat.  I have two cats now, Toez the Polydactyl Cat, and our new little friend SnowBug Da'Bean, who looks a great deal like the kitten under the shock-haired boy on this postcard!

Happy Friday the 13th! -Postcard Friendship Friday #471

Yes, it is Friday the 13th.  I've never seen it as a scary holiday, just a fun day--this one was special, though, because the moon was full.  The next full moon on Friday the 13th will be in 2045--long after I am gone to heaven.  Happy Friday the 13th!

It is hard to believe Halloween will be here in six weeks!  Fall is here with a vengeance.  A storm has blown in and it is raining.

Tomorrow the weather is to become especially rambunctious!  I'm kind of looking forward to the thunderstorms they say may roll through here--we don't have many, and when they do come through, they're not dangerous as they are in the mid-western regions of the US.

A Thrilling Halloween -Postcard Friendship Friday #470

Now that school has started, Halloween is the next holiday in sight.  It is stormy and chilly today.  I actually built a fire for the first time since last Spring.  I will miss the mild summertime temps we had this year.  But Fall is here and winter is just around the corner.
