Happy With You -Guest Heart Thursday
I don't remember where I found this one--if you know, please let me know, so I can put in a link. I love this--it reminds me of my own darling Sweetheart. After nearly 30 years of marriage, he is still so sweet to me when I don't feel well. I have had the flu for nearly five days now and he has been so kind. He looks after me, makes sure I'm warm and comfortable and he COOKS for me! (grin) I am SUCH a blessed lady.

The Charm of the Morn to You -Postcard Friendship Friday #156
What a darling little girl! I love her dress and buttoned fingerless gloves.
On Dad's side, it is said we are Irish. I've always felt a kinship with Ireland and Celtic music delights my soul. When I was a tiny girl, I would dance a little dance when I was happy. I would dance that little dance for hours, if Mom let me.
I can still remember the steps--though I'm a bit slower with age. When I was a young woman, I once watched a program about Ireland and the dances of that wonderful country. The dance my feet found when I was a small girl, was actually one of the traditional dances of Ireland. Music and dance come straight from the soul sometimes--in my case it certainly did!

Cherubs, Fairies and Four Leaf Clovers -Guest Heart Thursday
I know Valentine's Day is past, but I just HAD to share this postcard! Though it says "to my Valentine," it rather seems to be a combination of Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day, along with a smidgen of fairyland--just perfect for today's Guest Heart Thursday. As you can see--the clover leaves are shaped like hearts!

President Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln is one of my hero's. It is said my family has a "shirt tale" connection to his family. I rather like that idea. I've loved President Lincoln since I was a little girl. He is one person I would have loved to know. He was a deep thinker who knew his own wisdom was often inadequate for the job he had to do.

Shooting Star -Postcard Friendship Friday #155
News reports reveal we will experience a close call from a meteorite today. The meteorite will pass by around 11 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. Though scientists insist it won't touch us, the idea of its close proximity is still unnerving. Especially as we also view additional frightening images of a huge fireball streaking across the skies of Russia to explode above the ground.
With all that is happening today, I thought this postcard to be perfect for Postcard Friendship Friday. Here you see the goddess Athena, riding a shooting star through space.

In the Thick of the Storm
With the severe storms thrashing New England and the East Coast of America, this postcard touched a chord in my heart.
Young Myrtle writes to her Uncle Charley, "We have had several blizzards like this one or worse. The register was 52 below zero for one week. On the first and second - February it was 42 below zero. On the 6 of February we had a Chinook."
Our hearts and prayers are with all of you caught in the snowstorm. I've heard this one is a record breaker for you folks.

Valentine Birdies

My Heart's Best Gift -Postcard Friendship Friday #153
I adore this artist's work. The children are just beautiful. They remind me of my own when they were small.
When I was a little girl, Dad would bring Mom, my sisters and I lovely heart boxes full of delicious Valentine's Day candies. Back then, these heart boxes were delicately embossed, often embellished with flowers and real ribbon. I have those beautiful boxes in my keepsakes up in the attic. Though somewhat worse for wear, they are still filled with girlish treasures and lovely memories.
