Your Heart is Mine -- my Valentine!

I have always loved Cowboys.  Perhaps it is because my Grandfather was once a cowboy in real life.  He lived in Idaho, and eventually went from cows to sheep.

He passed away before I was born, but it was his joy to know I was on the way.  I wish I could have met him.  He could play any instrument and was once a member of a traveling country Western band.

I'm sure he's in heaven with my Daddy and they are looking down upon me and mine.  Have a wonderful holiday weekend!  What's left of it, that is.

In the Thick of the Storm

With the severe storms thrashing New England and  the East Coast of America, this postcard touched a chord in my heart.

Young Myrtle writes to her Uncle Charley, "We have had several blizzards like this one or worse.  The register was 52 below zero for one week.  On the first and second - February it was 42 below zero.  On the 6 of February we had a Chinook."

Our hearts and prayers are with all of you caught in the snowstorm.   I've heard this one is a record breaker for you folks.

Cowboy Romance -Guest Heart Thursday

I love this wonderful old Valentine.  I love the over sized hats they are wearing.  And could you imagine riding a horse in that skirt?  Looks like that cowgirl is about to lasso herself a fine Valentine!  He doesn't seem like the type to run.  I love their faces--the artwork, for a vintage Valentine, seems unusual.

For more heart art, photography and altogether fabulous heart stuff from around the world, visit Clytie at Random Hearts for Guest Heart Thursday.

Howdy!

This darling card was part of my Sister Clytie's extensive collection. When I fell in love with this artist's depictions of little children, she gave the set to me. I am SO privileged, and I treasure them. Not only because the cards are perfectly wonderful, but because they were given to me by my precious sister. You can see her wonderful blog at http://clytie-randomcards.blogspot.com/
