With Love - Postcard Friendship Friday #298

I am a bit late this week.  Thank you for your patience.

I found this beautiful Valentine's Day postcard online many years ago. I love the sweet look of the puppy in the little girl's arms. She has the fondest look in her eyes and I adore that pretty red cape.

I hope you all had a wonderful week, dear Friends.  Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Dressing Up -Postcard Friendship Friday #258

This wonderful old postcard reminds me so much of my sister Clytie and I when we were young. We did indeed dress the puppies in doll clothes, though I don't know if we ever actually were successful in any attempt to dress up a kitty cat!!

The little ones in our lives bring so much charm and joy.  I am so grateful for the joy of the children.

Have a lovely weekend, dear Friends--and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday.

My Heart's Best Gift -Postcard Friendship Friday #153

I adore this artist's work.  The children are just beautiful.  They remind me of my own when they were small.

When I was a little girl, Dad would bring Mom, my sisters and I lovely heart boxes full of delicious Valentine's Day candies.  Back then, these heart boxes were delicately embossed, often embellished with flowers and real ribbon.  I have those beautiful boxes in my keepsakes up in the attic.  Though somewhat worse for wear, they are still filled with girlish treasures and lovely memories.

Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Coming Your Way

This is another of Grammie's old cards.  They just don't make them like this anymore!  The flowers are exquisite, the little boy is a dear--I love his hat!  And that puppy is acorable.

Have a lovely Monday!

Hope I Can Catch You

Isn't the perspective of this Valentine's Day card wonderful? The eyes move from side to side along with the extended arm with baseball glove. I love these moveable cards. You can see the tiny rivet which allows movement.
.
I'm not sure about the year in which it was made--but I LOVE the look on his face. He looks so hopeful and a tad aggressive! I also like his adorable feet and that bright yellow shirt is really cute.

It's Awful When You're Sick...

This card is one of a wonderful collection given to me by my sweet Sis Clytie. The cards are large and come in their own pastboard box. I treasure her precious gift so much.
.
This morning, along with so many people I know who've had this terrible flu, my darling husband has come down with it hard. Poor fellow--I'm busy plying him with honey tea, meds and an occasional hot toddy. And yet he keeps on working--what shall I do with him? Tch tch tch!
.
It truly is an awful thing to be sick, especially when there is so much yet to be done. So--sweet hard-working husband of mine--GET WELL QUICK!
