Miss Camille's Fantastic Hat -Postcard Friendship Friday #346

Wow! She's gorgeous! But that amazing hat looks as though it might fly off with the slightest provocation. I wonder if women at that time actually wore hats like that, or if this was just for the photoshoot. She certainly has enough pizzazz to carry it off! Can you imagine what would happen to this dear lady in a windstorm?  Haha.

I am re-posting this postcard from 2010.  When I get back into town, I will be able to do more original stuff.  Thanks for your patience.  Have a wonderful week and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

I LOVE my Jewels

I have NO idea why this lady is kneeling on the rug ecstatically clutching that bit of jewelry as though it were her long-lost love . . . but it is actually kind of funny.

I am re-posting this vintage postcard.  I recently came upon it and between the postcard and the comment, I had a really good laugh this morning.  Heehee

I am doing very well recovering from my surgery.  I no longer need the walker and only use the cane when I'm going outside!  I am SO happy about that!

Have a lovely week, dear Friends.  It is nice to take time out to laugh, isn't it?  LOL

Graceful -Postcard Friendship Friday #318

I posted this wonderful postcard back in 2009.   This dramatic photo was taken around the turn of the century and for its time must have been considered quite risque. However, in this day and age, I find Miss Marian Morgan to be lovely, even faery-like in her graceful pose and long flowing hair.

God bless you, sweet Friends and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Beautiful -Postcard Friendship Friday #297

I posted this unusual postcard back in 2009--enough time has passed by, I thought I'd put it up again.  The girl is beautiful and the dress is just stunning.  I would LOVE to have a dress with sleeves like that!   The embroidered flowers are lovely, too.  The size of her waist, though, bothers me. She's so tiny I think she might break.

I hope you all had a wonderful week, dear Friends.  Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Mishkin - Postcard Friendship Friday #273

This lovely lady caught my imagination. Her clothing and intricately woven hairdo are so beautifully elegant. I find myself wondering about her. Who was she? What was she thinking when the photo was taken? She seems so pensive and sad.

I hope your summer is going well.  It has been very busy and I am recovering from a summer cold.  We have had record breaking heat and no measurable rain since April.  It is a summer like none before.  Take care, sweet Friends, and God bless you.

Little Heart Holder -Guest Heart Thursday

I adore the added detail which must have been added by the photographer.  This little one does NOT look happy to be holding that heart, or having her picture taken.  I surmise she'd rather be outside playing!

Have a sweet day and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Joyous Tidings to all!

Here is another wonderful postcard which, this morning echoes my own joyous heart.

I believe the angel playing the horn is the little girl who's sweet face has so captured my imagination.

SISSY UPDATE: Clytie is still doing well, getting stronger every single day. In fact, one perk is her eyesight has improved! She tells me she's seeing more clearly than she has in years. A wonderful thing for my talented photographer Sis! Be sure to drop by Clytie's blogs this morning--she has two delightful entries you will want to read. Thank you everyone for your warmth, thoughts and prayers for my darling sister. YOU are an integral part of this miracle.

Long-Haired Beauty

I just love these old postcards! Isn't she beautiful?

When I was a little girl, every Sunday Grandma, Grampa, Uncle Dale, Dad, Mom and the rest of us kids would pile into the old car to drive to church. On our way there, I remember seeing a lovely older woman who would regularly walk through the field next to the road with her silver knee-length hair streaming out behind her. I was fascinated--she was so beautiful.

As a small girl, I made up my mind to grow my hair as long as hers, so that someday I could walk through a field in the early morning sunlight, with my glowing hair drifting into the breeze.

My hair is nearly to my waist and the shiny silver is coming in. (grin) Perhaps I'll make it yet!

A Good Life

Today my youngest Sister is getting married. She is marrying a wonderful man who loves her very much. May God bless their lives with hope, love, strength and winsome love. But not just that, may God bless my sister and my new brother each, with the ability to go more than half way toward eachother in the hard times.

Dad is well enough that he'll be able to walk her down the aisle using his cane. The oxygen and wheel chair won't be far. Thank you for your prayers. Dad has had a few bad days recently. He's felt so discouraged with the length of this healing process. Please pray that Dad will be encouraged and feel God's blessing on his life.

Two Handsome Loggers

There is a museum of amazing machines near Brooks, Oregon. In the museum area for logging machines and memorabilia, I found this photo. I don't know what it is about these guys, but their faces and humorous stance caught my heart in a bit of intrigue! I wonder who they were? I think about what their lives must have been like.

I'm filled with gratefulness to them for forging their path to our future. They are a very real part of what makes our country great.

Blue Daisies in her Hair -Postcard Friendship Friday

Here she is again--the little French Girl. I have made some inquiries, and so far, no luck on finding out who she was.

I have, however, discovered there are a lot of other people who are as intrigued with her, as I am. I found one woman who wants to write a book about the lives of these unknown Edwardian Children. Especially those children who came from Paris. But so far her efforts to discover who they were have been unsuccessful. Some people believe she was the daughter of a photographer, who's negatives and originals were destroyed during the bombings of WW2.

So, if anyone out there knows anything about this lovely young lady from Paris I would love to hear from you.

Happy Postcard Friendship  Friday!

Little Princess

Here is another postcard of the intriguing little French girl. Recently Jann posted two more photos she recognized as being the same small girl I have wondered about. This is my favorite of the two. (Thank you Jann!)
.
There are so many of these postcards, all of the same little girl, in various poses. She has such a unique face, such a delightful, whimsical way about her. I continue to wonder who she was. If anyone out there knows, I'd love to hear from you!
