Best Friends - Postcard Friendship Friday #123

It was a lovely holiday here in the United States.  The Fourth of July is a celebration I look forward to almost as much as Christmas or Thanksgiving.

Friends and family all gathered around, laughing, playing games, watching the parade, eating good food.  Then walking down to the river's edge to await the fireworks display. Walking back home in a crowd of thousands, then watching traffic at a standstill while we set off our own fireworks, sit around the firepit, making sommores--it is a wonderful time.

But this year, something interesting happened--I was amidst a crowd of family and friends as the parade was passing by, when suddenly I felt as though I was surrounded by a little bubble of quiet clarity.  It was almost as though that moment was in slow motion.  A blip in time, so to speak...

I looked around--saw the faces of family I adore, friends I love--and I knew at that moment how blessed I was to have each and every one of them in my life.  I took that moment to thank God for these precious ones.

And not just for those I watched from my little bubble of peace.  I thank God for friends I have not met face to face.  I thank Him for unexpected friendship.

Have a lovely weekend sweet Friends!

Very sweet card. I totally missed the 4th as I was flying, but did celebrate Canada Day on the 1st,though it was a quiet day, what with packing and all.

Lovely card and your post is even more lovely. It is a wonderful thing the way the internet has allowed friendships to develop where once it would have seemed impossible.
