Daddy's Story Time - Sunday Scans

This picture is actually from an old fairytale book in my collection.  I can't recall what the story was, but this lovely drawing reminds me of my own Daddy's stories.  Because of Dad's stories, I married a storyteller.  I still remember the wonderful stories my husband would tell the children when they were small.

Storytelling is a wonderful, magical gifting.  How grateful I am for the storytellers in my life.

Al over at "Al's Photography Blog" is hosting  "Sunday Scans".  It is a place for all things scanned.  So pick up your old photo albums, ephemera, postcards, artwork, ANYTHING which can be scanned and join in the fun!

fabulous illustration! The only time I did a good job telling stories was during religion lessons when I would relate personal stories to go with that lesson. It tickled me and boosted my morale when they would sit quietly intent on what I was telling them. :)

My mom use to tell us these scary stories when we were sewing late at night. My mom and I were dressmakers together and often when we'd have an urgent job we'd work late into the night, I think she did this to keep me awake.

That is an extraordinary illustration - it is certainly from another time. Sometimes I yearn for simpler times but I also love my modern conveniences and things like vaccinations.

This is a wonderful illustration! I can remember staying up late with my own kids, telling stories. Sometimes I'd fall asleep mid-sentence, and start talking gibberish ... or so say my kids.
