The Lady and the Sheik -Postcard Friendship Friday #348

Back in the 1930's there were many films made about romance in the far East. This is a photo from one of those wonderful old movies. Their pose, the kiss trembling between them--well, it looks VERY romantic. (grin)

However looks are probably deceiving. Most likely these dancers are feeling quite uncomfortable! Cameras from that long-ago era took forever to take a picture.  The folks posing for a picture had to hold the stance without moving, for quite some time. How they held their smile and that sense of romance I cannot imagine!

Have a lovely day, dear Friends.  Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

For my Sister.

If I could, today I would come winging with a lovely rose to delight your morning.  I would bring a hot cup of fragrant honey water to soothe away your stresses.  I would lend a loving ear to your story.  I would give a warmful hug to your heart--and a happy giggle for your ears.  I would share a gleeful hop, skip and jump to lighten your feet.  I would sing the joy of childhood to you.  I would say I love you, my sweet Sis.  I'm praying for you.

And I do send all of these to you--Can you see them?  Do you hear it?  They're yours today, right this minute.

Angels - Postcard Friendship Friday #6

This is another postcard of the lovely little girl who so intrigues my heart. Here she is with another child about the same age. I think those wings and draperies are charming.

I wonder about her life and who she might have been. If anyone out there knows, I'd love to hear her story.

Angelic Greetings -Postcard Friendship Friday

Here she is, that lovely little girl who has so captured my imagination. This is a postcard from my "cyber" collection. Thank you for sending her to me, Jann!

A Merry Christmas to everyone--this year has been so full. Good things, awful things, miraculous things--all stuffed into a year's time. Wow.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Many of you have walked the tightrope of this past year with my family and me. I do SO appreciate you. May God bless you all and keep you safe in His arms this Christmas Day. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Long-Haired Beauty

I just love these old postcards! Isn't she beautiful?

When I was a little girl, every Sunday Grandma, Grampa, Uncle Dale, Dad, Mom and the rest of us kids would pile into the old car to drive to church. On our way there, I remember seeing a lovely older woman who would regularly walk through the field next to the road with her silver knee-length hair streaming out behind her. I was fascinated--she was so beautiful.

As a small girl, I made up my mind to grow my hair as long as hers, so that someday I could walk through a field in the early morning sunlight, with my glowing hair drifting into the breeze.

My hair is nearly to my waist and the shiny silver is coming in. (grin) Perhaps I'll make it yet!

I Love My Rug -Postcard Friendship Friday

The beauteous lady is truly lovely, and seems to have great affection for that bearskin rug she's leaning against. If you enlarge the picture, you can see the look on her face belies the body language of her pose. In fact, the expression on her face is a little unsettling. (Eeek!)

Somehow, though, something about this postcard makes me laugh. I don't know what it is, except the title I Love My Rug totally fits! (grin)
