Tis You and You alone

I often think of my one true love.  I miss him so much.  He was a man's man, but he loved me and I loved him.  I wish he could come back just once so I could hug him again.

He was kind, good and strong.  My Beloved.  I love you, Honey.

To My Best Love -Postcard Friendship Friday #487

It is hard to describe the emotions touching my heart this afternoon. The New Year is here and memories of moments gone by mingle with the flow of what is yet to come.  I am filled with a certain melancholy, yet somehow joyful sense of the great adventure ahead. How I long to see what's around the next corner.

Already Valentine's Day is only a little over a month away!  So here is this year's first Valentine's Day postcard!  I love vintage vintage Valentine Cards--they are sometimes fun, but can be exquisite and elegant.

Have a beautiful weekend! What's left of it, that is--and don't forget to watch for those sparkles which God tucks into each day.

Watch the Flickering Flame -Postcard Friendship Friday #474

I like this postcard because of the cat.  The tiny black cat I dubbed "SnowBug Da'Bean" turns out to be a main coon.  In four months he is the size of my full-grown cat!  When he's full grown, he may be the size of a small dog--like the plucky black cat in the postcard.

Have a lovely weekend, Friends and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

How about a Ride? -Postcard Friendship Friday #449

I love the way the young man is looking at this gentle maiden.  However her companion the Dog seems a bit suspicious.  What a beautiful postcard.  I wonder if she WILL go for ride in that boat upon the lake.

I finally went to the doctor--looks like I have pneumonia.  Thankfully I may be over the worst of this soon.

Happy Postcard Friendship Friday and have a lovely weekend all you wonderful people out there!

Wishing You Much Happiness

I love writing for this blog.  I check it every day where everyone who visits comes from.  It is a wonderful thought that there are people from all across the world who love old cards and postcards just as much as I do.

Valentine's Day is next week--Time is going by SO quickly.  Have a lovely week, sweet Friends.  I wish you all MUCH happiness!

To My Love -Postcard Friendship Friday #443

This sweet card is from the mid-1940's.  I found it in one of Dad's scrap books from those days.  He has been gone for six years--there are so many things I wish I had known about Dad--didn't until after he passed away.  What a delight to find this in his keepsakes--Daddy was a sentimental fellow.  This Valentine's Day Card folds down into this delightful Valentine.

I know this isn't a postcard, but I had to share it with you dear ones.  I know you will love it as much as I do!  May blessing, joy and hope be yours, sweet Friends. Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Where Hearts Come From -Postcard Friendship Friday #295

If you've ever wondered where Valentine's Day Hearts come from, now you know!  This charming postcard captured my imagination.  What lovely colors and what a wonderful imaginative idea!  I am inspired.

Treasure those you love with all your heart, dear Friends.  Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday.

Happy Anniversary -Postcard Friendship Friday #128

Tomorrow is a very special day.  Tomorrow our parents will have been married 55 years.  They have been loyal to one another through thick and thin, better and worse, richer and poorer.  They have fought together, loved together, suffered together, laughed together.

Their marriage has been a tremendously realistic role model of what true love is all about.  I am so grateful to them, for their love and care for one another over the years.

Happy 55th Anniversary, Dad and Mom!

In One A-Chord

I know this is not a postcard, but it is definitely vintage. I just couldn't find anything that fit.
.
The reason I'm posting a card, rather than a postcard today, is it is my husband's birthday. The poem within this lovely little card is very appropriate--over the past 27 years our love is still strong and it perfectly fits how I will always feel about him.
.
What moonlight means to lovers,
What roses mean to June
What birds mean to the Springtime
What words mean to a tune..
That's what YOU mean to me, dear,
And that's a perfect sign,
Your heart beats to a rhythm,
that's in A-CHORD with mine!
.

Happy Birthday, Honey! I love you so very much--and I always will.
.
This vintage card was recently given to me by my sister Clytie. (Thank you, Sissy!) On the front, there is a disc inscribed with musical notes which can be moved at the notch.
