There seem to be a lot of holidays on August 2nd. It is said that today is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day. There are no indication as to how this holiday was started, or even if it is truly a national celebration. However, I can't think of a better thing to do on a hot August afternoon, than to sit in the backyard swing eating an ice cream sandwich.
That treat brings back memories of my childhood--Creamy ice cream, tucked inside two crunchy chocolate wafers. Ice Cream Sandwiches have been around since the early 1900s. My favorite is with vanilla ice cream. However you can find them with chocolate, mint, or strawberry--all marvelous flavors of ice cream.
As soon as I'm done with this blog entry--I'm off the store to buy a box of Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches! Woohoo!
Have a lovely day and happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Hello Beth,
I was really hoping I have a postcard with an ice cream to share while I was planning on a PFF post last night ... with a spoon in one hand digging into a bucket of strawberry ice cream on hand :D
I'm happy to be back to blogland.
I wish you can read my GHT post yesterday when you have the time...I mentioned you there.
Hugs from Manila and wishing you a happy weekend,
Maria
I would have bought this postcard simply for the silliness of the rhyme and the message!
I think I am too late to participate. I love those ice cream sandwiches.
