Two Swans and a Boat -Postcard Friendship Friday #502

Today my Beloved would have been 77 years old.  I still miss him, even though it has been almost six years since he flew away to heaven.

My sweet heart loved boats of every kind and loved the idea of owning a sailboat one day.  Likely, though--he would NOT have had a boat decked with pink sails and forgetmenots!

Have a lovely weekend, dear ones and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday~

September Birthdays -Postcard Friendship Friday #373

Though sadness sometimes envelopes my heart, I still love the month of September.  It is a kind of prelude to Fall--and time of harvest.  The birds are busy and the season is changing.

September's stone is the Sapphire.  In ancient times, it was known as the wisdom stone, good for the mind--relieving mention tension, and depression.  It was said to restore balance within the body, and peace of mind.  The ancients also used the Sapphire to treat blood disorders, bleeding and the strengthening of one's heart.  The poem on this postcard reflects those beliefs.

A maiden born when Autumn leaves
Are rustling in September's breeze.
A Sapphire on her brow should bind--
'Twill cure diseases of the mind.

I love Sapphires of all colors, including the Ruby. It is said various colors of this stone treat various things--but I will not go into that here!

Have a lovely weekend dear friends--and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

COMMENDATION:  I wanted to put in an extra note here about Linkytools and its creator Brent.  I have had Linkytools on my blog before it was known as Linkytools!  Brent has always answered every single email I've sent personally and professionally.  He does this even now that Linkytools is one of the most popular of its kind in the world.  I've never seen anything like the personal touch he brings to his business.  I highly recommend Linkytools to every blogger.  :D

Happy Birthday, Mumsie

Today my precious Mother turns 78.  We are exactly 19 years apart.  I am so blessed to have a mother like mine.  So often I hear stories about mothers who are less than what should be and I know she is a rare and beautiful woman--and a fabulous Mother.

She is so sweet.  She listens to me, she's proud of me.  She keeps my secrets and teaches me truth.  She amazes me and she loves me.

Here's a sweet story about Mumsie.  For years she would doodle 41 inside of a heart.  We used to tease her about it, and she would say, "When I turn 41 something BIG is going to happen.  And we would laugh.

The morning of her 41st Birthday Mount St. Helens blew her top in Washington State!  We all laughed and laughed over that--and we tease her about it to this day.  After that she never doodled a 41 inside of a heart again.  (grin)

I am SO blessed to have you in my life, Mumsie.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  I love you so.

Happy Birthday, Mumsie!

I love these roses.  One can almost catch the scent of them in the air.  This artist has captured the beauty of roses--one of my favorite flowers.

Though this postcard wishes the receiver good luck, the truth is, I don't believe in luck--I believe in God.  He has seen me through good and bad times.

He is the One who gave my Mother to me.  I didn't always appreciate her kindness and sweet loving heart.  I didn't understand the frustrations she had or the hard life she faced.  When I was a teenager, she knew me better than I knew myself.  But I didn't know that.

Now Mums is one of my very best friends.  I wish I could have known that a lot sooner!  Sunday is Mumsie's birthday.  She is beloved to my heart.  I am SO blessed to have this wonderful woman as my own dear Mom.

Happy Birthday, Sissy! -Postcard Friendship Friday #119

I know this weekend is geared toward Mother's Day, but it is also my sister Clytie's birthday.  Because of that, today's postcard is a birthday greeting for my darling Sissy.

Sissy and I are only three and a half years apart.  We are best friends and I love her more than I can say.  She is not only my friend, but she's my prayer partner.  I count upon her wisdom in many things.  She inspires me, is a comfort to me and I adore her.  She is an amazingly gifted and talented woman.  I am so grateful to God for my sister. She is truly marvelous.

Please join me in wishing Clytie, Queen of Hearts, Happy Birthday today!!!  You can find her at Random Hearts.

Happy Days be Thine -Postcard Friendship Friday #168

What a lovely postcard! I especially like the graceful lines behind the words, Happy Days Be Thine.  I posted this beauty today, because tomorrow is our darling Mumsie's birthday.

She has endured so much through the years and yet has such grace and beauty.  She's had a very hard time of it, since Daddy died last November.  I can only hope that I will be so youthful and fun when I reach her age.

So to Mumsie and all of you--Happy Days be Thine.  Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Happy Pink Birthday! - Postcard Friendship Friday #15

In America, we celebrate Flag Day, in honor of our beautiful Flag's birthday, on June 14th. Isn't this a lovely postcard?  You are wondering why I'm not posting a Flag?

I thought you would enjoy hearing about Flag Day from my perspective as a small girl.  I so amazed when I saw all the flags flying everywhere on Flag Day.  Somehow in my mind, I believed they flew because it was the day I was born.  I was heart broken when I discovered the true reason for the flags.  As I matured, I learned to love the holiday not only because it landed on my birthday, but because of my love for my Country--and our Flag.

I look back and smile at that little girl I was.  The reason I'm posting a birthday postcard today?  This is for all you Flag Day birthday kids across the world--HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Thank you for your indulgence, once again I will be posting Pink Saturday along with Postcard Friendship Friday together.  For more wonderful Pink Stuff please visit Bev at Pink Saturday!
