Thanksgiving Day -Postcard Friendship Friday #288
Three years ago November 17th, Daddy flew away to heaven. This is a poignant week for our family. Yet, with all the sorrow we have had over the past few years--there is much for which to be thankful.
I was blessed with a Daddy who loved me. He taught me about God--because of my Dad, I understood how God the Father loved me. I remember the way his eyes would crinkle when he would smile--love would just beam from his eyes. Dad was kind and brave and SO much fun.
I am thankful for the memories of my Beloved husband. Ah, I miss his laughter, humor and the way he loved me and my kids. I am incredibly grateful for my children--they gift my life with light and hope. I have a wonderful Mom--Mumsie is one of my best Friends--what would I do without her wisdom and tenderness in my life?
I am deeply blessed to have brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews--and friends who are family.
I am grateful for God's tender loving care. For the world He created--all the beauty I see around me. I am grateful God sent His Son, the Shepherd Who Loves me...so that I will be able to see my Daddy, Brother and Beloved again someday. And so many others who have gathered in Heaven over the past 15 years.
Through the tears, there is a kind of inexplicable joy.
Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday, dear Friends.

Sincere Thanksgiving Greeting -Postcard Friendship Friday #143
I have always enjoyed vintage Thanksgiving postcards featuring beautiful Indian maidens--usually there's a turkey, corn, pumpkins and such included. Since I have a few drops of Native American blood in my veins, I think these postcards are especially charming. When the settlers arrived in the New World, the Indians helped them make it through the harsh winter. I often wonder what it would have been like to see the land as the settlers saw it upon landing. What a wild and beautiful place it must have been.
There are so many things for which to be thankful. This was our first Thanksgiving without Daddy. Though we all missed him, we had a beautiful time together as a family. I thank you for your prayers for us--you have all been so kind and dear. Daddy flew away to heaven last Saturday evening. He is with his beloved Savior now--safe, without struggle and out of pain.
God bless you all--and have a wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend.
