Farewell Precious Brother and Friend -Postcard Friendship Friday #397

Hello, dear Friends.  Today I lost my brother and my Friend.  Dan Becker was not only my husband's best Friend, he was one of my greatest encouragers after Alan passed away.

Yesterday our Dan had open heart surgery to repair a valve.  This morning the surgeon had to go in again to stop a leak which was pressing his heart...then again a second time--and Dan didn't make it.  We are all devastated.

Dan was a good, sweet and wise man, who loved his wife Judy, his family and friends.  He has left a great hole in this world.  Though I know he is with my Beloved, and that I will see both of these wonderful men again, I am grieving his loss more than I can say in words.

Just two weeks ago, I had the privilege of playing opposite Dan onstage in a drama I wrote.  How I thank God for that chance to spend time with him learning lines, and serving the Lord together.

God bless you all.

Comfort in Sadness

Today our lifetime friend Dan lost his little grandson in a tragic accident--these dear ones have already born so much heartache in their lives.  I hardly know what to say, or what to do.  Please pray for our friends Dan and Judy, and the parents of this precious little boy, Daniel.

May God comfort them in their grief.

Thank you for your prayers, dear ones.

I Ain't Lonesome -Postcard Friendship Friday #236

My darling husband of 31 years has been out of town for a week now.  He will be arriving back home today.  Yay!  Though I've enjoyed the time alone--I've also missed him very much.  I thought this cute postcard is a perfect expression of how I've been feeling the past few days.

I adore what Dot writes on the back of this postcard, "Dear Jack, I saw this card & I couldn't resist sending it.  It expresses my sentiments so nicely.  I'm hoping for a letter real soon.  I just love it down  here, the bathing is great, only if you were here."

Have a lovely weekend everyone and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Be Still My Heart - Postcard Friendship Friday #46

I've never seen a sad Valentine's Day postcard before, but this one is exactly that--though there is a glimmer of hope held within that poem.  I have to admit to experiencing a broken heart several times in my youth--this is exactly how a person would feel.  The truth is, the sun does still shine above stormy clouds--and though I remember the feelings of heartache I once knew, I do not feel the awful pain today.  For that I am grateful!
