The Little Drummer Boy
I have loved the story of the drummer boy since I heard it as a child. When I was in high school we sang the drummer boy song in choir. And of course at that time, there was a darling "stop motion" Christmas movie we watched on television this time of year.
When I was a little girl the beauty of the Christmas story, as told in the Bible, held a beautiful romance for me. Santa Clause was all good and well--but my heart was held by the story of the shepherds, angels, magi, Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. This age-old story is still lovely to my heart.
Though there likely was not a drummer boy who gave his song as a gift, I have always loved stories centered around the birth of this miraculous Child--imaginative, beautiful and inspiring.
Merry Christmas!
