Sergei Sergeevich Solomko is new to me. He was one of the great artists of Russia. His work was extraordinary. Though I can find examples of his artwork all over the internet, I am having a hard time discovering anything of his personal life and history, other than he was born in Russia and lived between 1867 and 1928.
I would LOVE to know more about him. If anyone out there has additional information about this wonderful artist, I would like to hear from you. And a big hello to my Russian visitors.

Lovely card. The amount of detail in the clothing is amazing. I'd like to view more by this artist.
He's a great artist, being able to create those intricate details on the clothes and the roses. This is a treat to the eyes, as I'm having rose wine treat to the tummy yesterday.

Solomko, Sergey Sergeyevich (1867 - 1928) - Russian painter, graphic artist, watercolorist. Creativity Solomko reached us mainly due to the pre-revolutionary open letters (postcards). Perhaps, in the history of Russian art there is not one such artist whose work looks at the specialists would be as polar opposites.
