Nearly a century ago, Russian native Sam Born traveled to France. There he learned the fine art of making chocolate candies. Sam immigrated to the United States in 1910. Seven years later, he opened a small candy shop in New York City, where he not only sold sweets, but made them, too.
As Born's operations outgrew his store, he moved his company, Just Born, to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania--a fitting place for the birthplace of what some call an Easter candy superstar.
In the mid 1950s, Just Born acquired another company which had invented three-dimensional marshmallow molds, which made possible the Easter chicks and bunnies we love to hate--called Easter Peeps.

Lovely Easter story. I'm not quite prepared for Easter yet so my post this week is not related. Will try to make amends next week. Happy PFF.
Happy Friday, Beth! What a sweet card! I love baby chicks and I adore cherubs! Indeed, Mr. Born created a empire that has no foreseeable end! For the Valentine's holiday, there were peeps hearts ... oh, they were delectable! One was strawberry flavored and the other cream. Yum!
Wishing you blissful weekend, dear friend!
Cute card!
My post is about...East of Africa region...:)
Fun post ... I love peeps!!!!!
LOL. How'd you like to be Born Chocolate? I don't eat Peeps. I'll stick with Chocolate Rabbits, Thank You!
I love chocolate (especially dark chocolate) and hate marshmallows. I never even heard of Peeps until a few years ago.
Love this post! My daughter and I made a peeps diorama that made it in to the top 10 in our newspaper's contest. http://aimeesland.blogspot.com/2011/04/exciting-news.html
Wonderful post...I had an inkling you'd be posting an Easter Card this week when I published my PFF a day early yesterday...so glad my inkling was correct!
The card is lovely but I've never heard of peeps! I'm sure they're sweet too. :)
Great postcard. Love the story about the Peeps. I never had those as a child, but have enjoyed them occasionally as an adult. Love to place them in the microwave and watch them magically grow.
I don't think I've ever eaten a peep, but perhaps it's time to hunt some down.
wow, what a lovely postcard, like it! don't have any postcard about easter yet. joining you here for the first time! anyway, happy weekend and happy easter! -Postcrossing Mom
