I am posting this MOST sincere sympathy card in honor of our DEAD hot water heater.
I thought the blue rose with the DRIP to be MOST appropriate.
If one cannot weep, one MUST laugh. (grin)

So very clever, Beth ... with a touch a "dry" humor! ~ I am so sorry for your loss... don't you just loathe it when these things happen? Because they just do, and you can only go with the flow ... no punt intended there ... Cheer up! Things will be running and heating up again soon enough! Wishing you a happy day! ... Perhaps tonight you will win the Giveaway! Fingers and toes crossed for you! :))
Such a beautiful card to mourn the loss of an appliance. Hoping the old one goes off to wherever old appliances go and you have a new, energy efficient one hooked up soon! It probably served you well and long! May it RIP. :-) Carol
Oh I do sympathise. I thought ours was a gonner last night but I managed to restart its pulse once again - but for how long? I might just print off that card of yours.
Beautiful card. Abe thinks we should have our tank replaced, but the plumber that checked it said it's still got a lot of good years left. He suggested we get a gizmo that we set on the floor of the hot water tank closet and if it springs a leak, it's suppose to set off an alarm like a smoke detector.
Beth, a lovely postcard for a dear friend, your hot water heater... :) I will post for Postcard Friendship Friday by I won't be able to sign Mr. Linky because I'll be away for a couple of days... :)
Beth - you amaze me, what a wonderful, clever way to react to a serious problem. I do not know where you live but here in Fort Lauderdale in the summer the cold water (ha) is warm enough to shower. Marge
The title of my blog, "The Best Hearts are Crunchy," comes from a comment made years ago by a five-year old girl, as she thoughtfully perused a tempting box of Valentine's Day candies. She is probably a grown mother by now, with children of her own.
I loved what she said so much, I wrote it down on a napkin.
About Me
I am interested in vintage cards, postcards, history, people, art, drama, old books, music and photography. I enjoy discovering the root meanings of words, I love stories and I like writing.
Fills My Eyes
When I see something unexpected, unusual, or beautiful, my focus suddenly sharpens and intensifies. The sensation tickles! That's when I say something "fills my eyes." It is the greatest compliment I can give.
MY "CYBER" POSTCARD COLLECTION
Over the years, I have gathered together a large "cyber" collection which I often refer to for Postcard Friendship Friday and Guest Heart Thursday.
I don't always remember where they came from, so if any of these wonderful postcards, cards, or other ephemera came from your site, let me know and I will add a link to your blog.
Copyright information can be found at the bottom of this page.
Hearts and Flowers
I have collected vintage cards, fairytale books, postcards, old photos and art pieces since I was a small girl.
Even before I could read, I spent hours looking at old cards, coloring books and illustrations in my fairytale story books. I am sure my love for art and even my own drawing stylings came from my fascination with them.
Mail was so rare, I saved every card and letter I received as a child. Some of those nostalgic items will be shared on this blog.
Quite a few of the vintage pieces I have collected reflect the life and times of history itself. The cards, postcards, antique photos and art from my collection are dated from the late 1800's, through WW2. Many of these old cards come from our darling little Grandmother Jenny. I have also included some items from the early 1950's which were given to me by my precious Gramma Gladys and dearest Nita.
In a very real way, this Blog is my way of honoring these marvelous inspiring artists and the ongoing influence they've had in my life.
I hope you will enjoy the beauty, tremendous skill and sometimes whimsical work of these long-gone artists as much as I have over the years.

At least it's summer time, or no doubt you would be blue with cold like the rose. I hope it's not too appropriate and that it's fixed very soon.
Oh Sissy there is nothing sadder then a cold shower...you have my sincere condolences. Love you.

That's cute! I almost had a dead a/c unit last weekend, but it got fixed before I melted.
Snicker. May it R.I.P.!
And here's to the new one!!!
