I have NO idea why this lady is kneeling on the rug ecstatically clutching that bit of jewelry as though it were her long-lost love . . . but it is actually kind of funny.
I am re-posting this vintage postcard. I recently came upon it and between the postcard and the comment, I had a really good laugh this morning. Heehee
I am doing very well recovering from my surgery. I no longer need the walker and only use the cane when I'm going outside! I am SO happy about that!
Have a lovely week, dear Friends. It is nice to take time out to laugh, isn't it? LOL

Well Beth, that would be me. That's what I look like when I find that perfect vintage piece of jewelry at a yard sale on any given Saturday morning!!!
ReplyDeleteeverything vintage
Kinda looks to me like she might be using it to scrub her face? Nowadays we can get sparklies in our face cream, but back then ..... giggle.
ReplyDeleteActually I thought the ghost angel flying over her back was rather intriguing.
ReplyDeleteHowever if I had been there with her, I'm ashamed to admit I might be forced to give a boot in the butt against my will...just too much temptation for a weak willed girl like me.
Hahaha!!! I agree, the boot in the butt sounds like too great a temptation on this one!
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice the ghost angel until you said something about it, Deann. My daughter says she's a (Harry Potter) ghost Quiddich angel, riding a broomstick reaching for the Golden Snitch ...
I get this way over orange flavoured chocaolate! Can you tell that I just when on a diet? I'm going to go eat a carrot now....drat!
ReplyDeleteI'll be this was considered quite a racy photo back when it was taken! She looks a little giddy.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely racy; perhaps even a little misogynistic. It speaks to me. ;)
ReplyDeleteMisogynistic... referring to her vanity and greed for jewels..hmmmm...Interesting thought Mr. Chris!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom loved her jewelry this much for sure!
ReplyDeleteSensual photo for the times, it looks like an old one. What is her story? Diamonds are a girl's best friend?
Pozdrawiam
ReplyDeleteJewels are a girl's best friend? Keep well.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you are healing and laughing. I don't think I'd be kneeling to hug some jewels. Although I have to tell you, I do love me some diamonds.
