Be Glad! -Postcard Friendship Friday #324

I am reposting a postcard from 2009.  It is one of my favorites.  I received this postcard when I was a teenager in the 1970's. I love the little girl and the artist's style is so exquisitely sweet.  I adore the dandelions growing at her feet--I still pick those puffs of dandys and blow them into the wind.  I suppose the child in me still loves how they float and dance.

Though sorrow crashes into my soul this morning, today is a day to be glad in the Lord and rejoice! How grateful I am that He walks with me on this unexpected journey.

I hope this coming weekend is beautiful for you.  Blessings to each of you dear ones.  Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

  2. Very sweet! I remember that style of cards very well, I use to draw girls like that in my school notebook when I was supposed to be paying attention.

  5. A wonderful card for a wonderful verse! I love how she is a bit pigeon toed! It's strange how dandelions go from being so magical as a child to weeds as an adult! Johnny is horrified whenever I pull them up from the lawn! Happy PFF!

  11. It is so tender and for me it's an unusual theme because here in Quebec we don't usually see this type of religious postcard - although we do have LOTS of postcards of churches and shrines such as Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre.

  13. What a lovely postcard, and how cool that you have kept it all these years! Read with interest your statement about enjoying learning the roots of words... heard the word "dungaree" today and had to wonder about that word... too funny!

  15. Hi Beth,

Happy Postcard Friendship Friday! Thanks for sharing this sweet card from the 1970s. It reminds me of the pictures in my sister's bed room at that time. It's also nice to see the comments from 2009 of the postcard bloggers.

    Happy trails!
