Due to the busy state of my life right now, I'm re-posting this funny postcard about cats.
I bought this postcard many years ago. It is a reproduction of an antique postcard, printed on 100% recycled paper, in the USA by the Evergreen Press in Walnut Creek, California.

I adore the rich colors, and the soft texture of fur and rug. The detail on the cat dish is beautiful. But yesterday, as I slipped my collection of postcards and cards into binders for safekeeping, I happened to look a little closer.
I did a double take. I suddenly wasn't sure if the one cat was exactly pleased with the other one.
And I have a question. What on earth IS that in the cat dish??? Anyone have any ideas? It looks like a bug to me....Have a lovely weekend dear friends, and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

He certainly DOES look grouchy! It looks to me like a cricket! Maybe he is mad that he has a lousy bug in his dish instead of a big hunk of birthday cake!
ReplyDeleteI have an aunt who lives in Walnut Creek, Ca! Happy PFF my dear Betrh!
I think it's like a bee.
ReplyDeleteHappy PFF.
Beautiful picture of cats (i love cats), thank you.
ReplyDeleteHappy PFF
That's a wicked lookin' tail on that cat... perhaps he's not pleased with the cricket/cockroach/mystery-bug in his pretty dish?!
ReplyDeleteHope all's going well in your magical world, Beth...
~blessings~Pearl
grasshopper? :D happy PFF!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a cockroach who ate all their catfood. And they are definitely NOT happy about it!
ReplyDeleteCat: Waiter, what is this cricket doing in my milk!
ReplyDeleteWaiter: The back stroke, I think.
Cute card and happy PFF!
I can't tell if they are unhappy with each other, or if it's because of that disgusting bug in their dish!
ReplyDeleteExcellent question. It's got to be a bug, but I know my cat wouldn't care! Happy PFF from a Newbie :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the detail in this card! I'd recognize that critter anywhere. It's what we call here in SC, a Palmetto Bug. Scary things. Happy PFF, Beth!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Clytie, definetly a cockroach eeewww. The brown cat is a girl she looks like she's gonna be sick and the red cat is a male cause he's psst. Isn't it a blast to make up your own stories from a painting or photo. Thanks, you made my PFF, hope yours is fantastic too.
ReplyDeleteI think its a bug in the dish...probably why they aren't very happy! It's a great card...I love cats!
ReplyDeleteSometimes my cats look like that at each other. Both of them love to try to catch bugs, but maybe that one is a little large. I thought maybe it was a spider.
ReplyDeleteA beetle! Apart from that, a beautiful card. :) :)
ReplyDeleteOne cat looks pretty sure, but the other looks like he or she just might not be so certain about where this is leading.
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny, Beth! Can you imagine sending someone a Birthday greeting containing mystery-bug-cat-food? The kitties, however, are beautiful, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteYIKES! I think you are right there is a bug in the dish....It sure is fun collecting and viewing postcards over and over. Thanks for keeping your weekly posts up!
