Prayer Partners - Postcard Friendship Friday #296

Isn't this just the cutest postcard you've ever seen?  I posted this back in 2010--I hope you don't mind when I re-post various postcards.  I have a lot to do today, so I am taking this little shortcut.

I once shared my life with a furry friend who looked exactly like this cat.  He loved me when I was a single girl.  Then after I married, he went out of his way to win my husband (who said he disliked cats).  When my children were born, he was their adoring protector.

His soul flew away to kitty heaven over 20 years ago. I still miss him. His full name was Sir Brat T. Bone, but we called him Bratty Bones.  I imagine him walking with Alan in heaven.  I have a vivid picture of them in my mind's eye.  It is a sweet picture.

Have a lovely day, dear Friends and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

  7. Oh what a sweet postcard and beautiful tabby! We also had a grey tabby (long ago) who won our hearts by making a home in our rose bushes and refusing to leave until he became a vital part of our family! My daughter named him Charmer and he was a wonderful cat. Thanks for sharing this true story!

Also...Are you participating in the ONE WORLD ONE HEART event which starts tomorrow? I participated last year and will do so again this year as it was great fun entering all the giveaways and meeting many new bloggers! Be sure to come visit me tomorrow to enter my giveaway!

I had a cat that looked like this too, I named her Gypsy because she was a wanderer.

  10. Very cute, both the cat and the boy. And it must have been wonderful to have such a protective cat. Our red cat Jojo, the one we used to have at home in the 1980s, was never protective, but just lazy, always soozing in a sunny place, preferably the hay. He only became active when he wanted to eat. Then he came running home, miauwing annoyed, ticking his tail to the window. My mother loved to feed him, so he got fatter and lazier and fatter. Our neighbour boy took our big red, fat cat on his shoulder and walked around with it like it was fur. Everyone in the neighbourhood was used to the sight. And Jojo loved it.
