Easter Hope - Postcard Friendship Friday #110

Easter is a time of hope.  It is no wonder we celebrate this wonderful holiday in the Spring.  Hope permeates the very air we breathe.  Centuries ago, Easter was created to celebrate the death of the Savior, the miracle of His resurrection and the hope of His return.

One of my favorite verses from the Bible is found in the book of Romans.  "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Rom. 15:13 NIV)

This year, Easter has a great significance to me.  I wanted to share the hope and peace I find in my heart just now.  It wasn't so just a few days ago.  The doc had found some lumps and swollen lymph nodes.  It was a shock to hear.  Though it might not be anything at all, I felt so frightened.  But when I laid my fear and anxious thoughts in the arms of Him Who loves me, peace and joy--and hope flooded my soul.

Hope.  That's the gift of Easter--HOPE!

Early Monday morning I go to the hospital for a diagnostic mammogram.  It's the best cancer hospital in the entire Pacific Northwest, I'm told. This may be just a false alarm.  I pray that is what it is.  Sweet friends, I would appreciate your prayers for a good outcome.

May God fill each of your hearts and lives with His love, joy, strength, power, peace--and especially hope.

HAPPY EASTER!

*  NOTE: You don't have to stick to the theme I choose each Friday. Just put up the postcards you love and tell us why you like them.

  1. Count me in today, Beth. I'd like to Thank You again for being so gracious. I have other duties today, including shoveling my front walk. Good Friday has a White Face.

A Very Blessed Easter to You - and Yours - from Me and Mine.

  2. You will be in my thoughts, Beth. I had just such a scare years ago and the outcome was good. My hope for you is that you will be able to say the same.
