I love this card from Grammie's collection. What a lovely scene. Grandma Jenny's sister Tilly often sent the most lovely cards, this one is no exception. I thought this the perfect card for Pink Saturday.

I know why she loved these idyllic scenes - I just got done reading "My Mother's Legacy" by Great Aunt Aggie (edited by Marvin and Danny). Wow. You need a copy of this amazing story. It explains a lot!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your Grammie saved these cards. So precious and sweet.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Is Clytie referring to your Great Aunt Aggie as well as hers?
Postcards bring us back for a moment in time. Neato feeling, huh? HPS!

ReplyDeleteI am so glad you stopped by this morning!
Your visits are always a pleasure! :))
Years ago we used to go to a mall called, Webb's Antique Mall. There one could spend a day, more or less, wandering around looking at everything once found in a home, from furniture to old pictures and boxes of postal cards.
ReplyDeleteSome of my kids still go there and when they do I ask them to look for boxes of old postal cards. They will call me sometimes and tell me they found a box but each card in it is 75 cents. What happened to the useless stuff that it now commands 75 cents a card? Anyway, I don't have any old postal cards except those that were mailed to me back when the postage was one penny.
None look as nice as this picture either.
I don't know what happened to the stuff in the museum in Sendai. Nobody has answered my emails -- at least the people I sent emails to never replied. I assume they have a lot more to do than get on the Internet. I know the piles of debris is, around Sendai, 10 feet high and higher. You can't walk you have to pick your way through or over and under. I suppose people don't really know what to do.
And on top of everything else there is leaking radiation.
