Yesterday started the festivities of Oktoberfest in Mt. Angel, Oregon where one can find all kinds of fun things to do--along with fabulous foods and drinks. The Glockenschpeil Restaurant and Pub has the second largest Glockenschpeil in the entire world!
Each hour a huge door opens high in a picturesque tower on the side of the building, where seven life-sized, hand-carved figures from the town's history tell a story with music by local children and musicians. It is a wonderful thing to see!
Happy

Sounds fun. Too bad it's across the country & I work. Sigh. Guess I'll have to settle for Octoberfest in La Crosse, WI.
ReplyDeleteWe have an Oktoberfest here as well - local microbreweries sponsor it, indoor arts & crafts fair and plenty of entertainment for young and old alike.
ReplyDeleteAnd as usual, THANK YOU for hosting PFF!
It sounds fun, but Germany would be a lot closer for me. :) I've never yet gone to an Oktoberfest. I prefer wine I think.
ReplyDeleteThe Glockenspiel sounds like a treasure and fun to see, and all that good food too. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a fun place and time to visit.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I just bought my husband some Oktoberfest beer today!
ReplyDeleteI can't join PFF today. :( We've had some power outages this week so my scanner isn't working. I'll link up next week...hopefully!
Someday you will have to post pictures of your participation in this marvelous Mt. Angel Oktoberfest! I hope you are having a wonderful time there.
ReplyDeleteP.S. - LOVE the postcard!
The man on the postcard had some more beers in his life, with his red nose and beer belly. It did him well. Cheers and happy PFF too, Beth.
ReplyDeleteGo with the flow (of beer). Let the Fest begin! ...:)
ReplyDeleteWish I could be there. I love beer and beer postcards.
ReplyDeleteFun card. I love Octoberfest and the idea that it MIGHT get cool someday!!!!!!!! Bring on the beer!
ReplyDeleteHappy PFF!
