This is another postcard from my "Cyber" collection. The idea of actually putting a piece of embroidery on a postcard is rather wonderful--though I don't know how a postcard like this would make it through today's postal stamping equipment.
I have heard these were popular in the early 1900's, many of them came out of France.

This is definitely the first postcard with embroidery that I have seen and it is pretty. Like you I doubt it would go through our automated postal system.

ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful, Beth. Some of the quilters and people who do collages do make lovely postcards and send them through the mail. There are some gorgeous ones. Similar to the artist trading cards but postcard size. Carol
ReplyDeleteIt's so very pretty. I'm sure it wouldn't survive sorting offices today. I did have one, I suppose it's still around somewhere, that looked as though it had suffered in that way.

ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely card, now a days, it would have to be inserted into an envelope and then it still might not arrive safely. Seems I have been so busy I haven't been visiting many blogs and I miss that. Have a great garage/yard sell.
