Violin Practice

I played the Viola for almost five years. Today I think I would have chosen the Violin, but in those days, I loved the deeper tones of the cello. When there wasn't a cello available I chose the Viola.

I love the look on that kitten's face--it seems there's a broken string dangling there.  And the dog is howling--obviously enjoying herself.

Hmmm... the little girl doesn't seem like she's into practicing, does she?  She's holding the bow all wrong, and from the look on her face she'd rather be playing outside in the garden!

  1. That is cute! We had a beagle when I was growing up and he did that anytime we played music.

  2. Oh, I love the strings ... I could never read music though, sadly. But oh, how the sound of them woos me ... hence the verse I wrote and posted today! It was written while listening to a violin solo!!

Beth, this is scary ... we are on the same wave-length today, my friend!!! :))))

  3. Adorable! I think you are right - she would rather be anywhere but practicing - and the dog thinks so too!!!

  4. What a cute little picture- Practicing is always the hard part when it comes to musical instruments. I took piano lessons for 3 or so years and hated practicing- But when I talked my mom into letting me take art classes I was more than happy to "practice" painting, drawing, and the like:) It's all about what we're meant to do ...

  5. «Louis» applauds you for choosing the Viola - that poor instrument can make such lovely music - but it's always in the shadow of the violin and cello...

  7. Both my grandaughters are learning the violin.

My son says he tries to keep practice time to a minimum as they both like to practise a different tune at the same time.

They have a cat and dog too!
