Fourth of July Greetings -Postcard Friendship Friday #319

Isn't this a beautiful postcard?  This is another from my "cyber" collection.  I love the flag, her Grecian draperies, that fierce Eagle with his wings out spread and those flaming cannons are wonderful!!!
Have a lovely Fourth of July.  Many of you are not from my country, so will not experience the celebration of freedom we have here.  Still, God bless you, dear ones, wherever you are.  ((hugs))
Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Graceful -Postcard Friendship Friday #318

I posted this wonderful postcard back in 2009.   This dramatic photo was taken around the turn of the century and for its time must have been considered quite risque. However, in this day and age, I find Miss Marian Morgan to be lovely, even faery-like in her graceful pose and long flowing hair.

God bless you, sweet Friends and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Butterfly Baby -Postcard Friendship Friday #317

Hello, dear Friends.  I have been out of town and apologize for getting this posted a bit later than usual.  I hope your week has been wonderful.  I was visiting family in Oregon's great Columbia Gorge.  It was hot, but in the evening the wind would kick up and swoosh through the trees--and the crickets joined in for a lovely hootenanny. I love that part of Oregon--so different than here in the Valley.

Isn't this little girl a darling? I love her dress, and I adore her expression, which plainly says, "You have GOT to be kidding. Do I REALLY have to wear this?"

One gets the feeling she'd rather be wearing her overalls, down fishing at the waterhole with the boys.

God bless you, sweet Friends and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Daisy Girl -Postcard Friendship Friday #316

One can find this little girl on multitudes of postcards which came out in the early 1900's. I have not been able to discover her name, or when the photo for the postcard was taken. She is such an adorable child. I have loved these wonderful postcards for years.  Oddly enough, my sweet niece could be her sister!  Children are such a beautiful and joyful part of life.

I was so intrigued by this particular postcard that I endeavored to draw her. Of course, my drawing doesn't do justice to the beauty and innocence of this lovely child.

God bless you, sweet Friends and Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!
